Membership

The following classes of membership are available:-

Ordinary Membership. Anyone over the age of 18, who is keen and interested in boating is eligible as a candidate for ordinary membership. An ordinary member shall be entitled to use the full amenities of the Club.

Junior Membership.  Anyone between the ages of 10 and 18, who is keen and interested in boating is eligible as a candidate for Junior membership.

Temporary Membership. Any visitor to the club who is a member of a water based activity club, or who is the owner or crew of any yacht visiting Lerwick or a visitor with an interest in the sport of boating will receive temporary membership for the duration of their visit.  The name and address of each temporary member shall be entered in a visitor's book.

Joint Membership. The husband/wife/partner of an ordinary member or an Honorary member shall be eligible as a candidate for Joint membership.      

Honorary Membership. The Committee may elect as Honorary Members any person or persons who have performed some outstanding service to the Club or its objectives.     

Associate Membership. Any person who is a paid up member of another club whose activities are water based. An associate member shall be entitled to use the club facilities but will not have voting rights at an AGM or EGM.
