We organise junior, race and adult sail training, dinghy /Shetland model sailing races as well as yoal rowing training sessions - in addition the club also organises sailing and rowing regattas annually.
With the races, training and International yacht races – including the famous Shetland-Bergen yacht race – we are very busy during the summer season, especially as we also welcome visiting yachts, whose crews use our free wifi, shower, laundry and bar facilities.
On the social side we organise quiz nights, food nights, regular musical evenings and special functions throughout the year. We also show big football and rugby matches on our large screen. During the winter months pool and darts teams use the club on a weekly basis. To find out about the club facilities and about making a booking click here.
The bar is staffed by volunteers which helps to keep the costs down and raise money to keep the club going. Our members and visitors enjoy one of the best views of the harbour from the bar - and on summer evenings the club pier is a fantastic place to have a relaxing drink.
Membership of the club is open to anybody interested in water based activities – you don’t even have to own a boat – or have set foot in one. We will soon get you started! To join the club all you need to do is complete an LBC Membership Application Form, which is also available from the clubhouse.
There’s an annual membership fee of £45, but we have discounted rates for families £70, retired £10, junior £10 and disabled persons £10. We also offer a discounted associate membership rate to club members of other water based activities, such as sea anglers, sailboarders, kayakers and divers.
The club is a registered charity and if you are interested you can view the club constitution and rules by clicking here
